Who:  This Six-Week After-School Program is open to Rolling Hills Primary students in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades.

When:  Six consecutive Thursdays from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM: January 9, 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13 (2020) costs $23 per class.

Where:  Rolling Hills Primary School, 25 McCulloch Drive, Dix Hills, NY in the Cafeteria.

What:  These “Cooking With Stars” classes are designed to inspire budding chefs by creating a delicious recipe each week celebrating a new food holiday or theme. After each hands-on cooking workshop, Li’l chefs will bring home their dishes to share with their family. More than just learning to cook, they will learn about food hygiene, mathematics of measuring, food chemistry, teamwork, communication, plus the featured tool of the week. Students receive a chef hat & apron and all recipes are posted online with photos and step-by-step instructions. There is a minimum of 10 students required to run this class with a maximum of 25 students.

Why:  A passion for food and cooking is a lifelong skill that Chef Paula’s father instilled in her from an early age.  There are many benefits to this.  For example, families love that their kids retain their interest in preparing their own food and bonding over food related activities.  The experience helps even formerly picky eaters discover they enjoy eating new foods with healthy and nutritious ingredients!  Cooking also enhances confidence, fosters curiosity, and develops good habits.

How: Seating is limited, so advance registration is required. The Regular cost of this class series is $138, payable at the time of registration.  Complete the student info and press the “Add to Cart” button above, then complete the Checkout. For security and convenience, your payment is processed by and you can even use your credit card without a PayPal account.  Otherwise, you can choose “Send a Paper Check” during checkout.  To Pay by Check, you can also use this printer friendly form, then enclose it with your check in an envelope, deposited in the PTA Mailbox in the main office.

Note:  If you are registering more than one sibling, you should add all siblings to the shopping cart (one at a time) BEFORE checkout. Everyone should check the box that says “Create Account” the first time they checkout. Besides food allergies, the space for “Health Concerns” during checkout is also the place to describe any condition that we need to know about including sensory and behavior issues.
