The 6th Annual Long Hospitality Ball 2016 (LIHB), held on June 27th at the Crest Hollow County Club in Woodbury, was truly spectacular! This fundraiser, hosted by Alec Baldwin, and produced by The Hart Agency with 70 dedicated committee members, donates its proceeds to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund.
Chef Paula and Cooking With Stars had the privilege of covering the event as press for the second year in a row. In fact, last year was the first time Chef Paula and her flag microphone hit the pink carpet to interview chefs, guests, and organizers. So, this event will always be near and dear to my heart.
The Long Island Hospitality Ball showcases our local top restaurants, wine & spirit companies, dessert companies, catering halls, nightclubs, entertainers, bars, grilling masters, and more. With 2,500 guests arriving to enjoy some of Long Island’s best food and drink, the 80 restaurants and 80 beverage companies pulled out all the stops to make sure guests were well taken care of.
While I do cover many food tastings throughout the year, this one particularly stands out. The high-quality offerings which included sushi, seared scallops over chickpea puree, shrimp & crab croquettes, braised short ribs over parsnip puree, fried wonton wrappers with ahi tuna & guacamole, chicken skewers with tzatziki sauce, tuna and watermelon skewers, the best rice pudding I’ve ever eaten, gelato infused with flecks of strudel, coconut cream pie tartlets, and tiramisu shooters, were among some of my favorite things showcased.

Thank you to all the organizers who tirelessly worked to make sure every detail of the Long Island Hospitality Ball was spot on.
