About Chef Paula

Chef Paula Gottlieb Herman has three passions in life: family, food, and TV. She is a former NBC News Production Coordinator, Unit Manager, and Segment Producer for The Sunday Today Show and Weekend Today Show. She produced segments with Al Roker on some of the exotics like Japanese dishes of Fugu (Blowfish) and Wagyu (Hand-Massaged Kobe Beef), kept viewers up on the latest grilling techniques, kitchen gadgets, and more. Paula also coordinated some of the production elements for Martha Stewart’s and Paul Prudhomme’s cooking segments for The Today Show.

As a way to honor her parents’ memories, since 2005, she became a private chef and has been teaching cooking at award-winning birthday parties, after-school enrichment classes throughout Long Island, summer camps, library programs, scouting events, and special needs workshops. Her events also include milestone occasions, corporate team building sessions, women’s and men’s groups, and intergenerational workshops. Chef Paula’s mission is to enrich her students’ lives by teaching them valuable skills, enhancing their confidence, and bringing families together to create nourishing meals.

Chef Paula was taught from a young age that it was important to give back. She has been Logistics Chair for March of Dimes Signature Chef Auction since 2014-Present. She volunteers throughout the year for Kids Need More, working with children dealing with pediatric cancer. She also donates culinary and media services to numerous non-profits throughout Long Island.

Chef Paula’s work has been featured in videos on Food Network’s Unwrapped; FIOS Push Pause; TV interviews on Live It Up! With Donna Drake; Filmmakers Show; Looking to Make A Difference with Gail; and Stage, Screen and In Between. Radio interviews include Feast on This and Reach Out. Articles about Chef Paula appeared in Westbury Times, Newsday, Patch.com, Long Island Parent, Nassau Parent, Suffolk Parent, Parents & Children, The Sag Harbor Express, & Long Island Mamas Network. Monthly recipe contributor for The Elder Guide. Local celebrity appearances include presenting cooking demos for The Chocolate Expo & Sweet Bee’s Honey Festival; a culinary judge for A Taste of Long Island; and a chef coach for a live culinary competition called Yo Stay Hungry.
